Recorded at the legendary Inner Ears Studios with engineer Don, and mixed at Innovation Station by Dave Mallen, this high energy track offers us an anthemic “Lets go!” to help push us through the last couple months of the Twelve Days Project.

Singer/songwriter Ted Hovis and keyboardist/composer Jamie Kowalski reunite for the Twelve Days Project after playing together in the Ted Hovis Band and collaborating on projects including Ted’s upcoming solo release “Let It Shine”, Jamie’s experimental rock project “Red Wire”, and the soundtrack for the internationally released film “Running Deep”. Picking out the theme of “awareness” from the song “Living Room”, this self taught artist, who has been accepted into the Lorton Workhouse, took her organic style of ‘Meditation Art’, fascination with negative space and the art of tessellation, and created this original pencil piece for the Twelve Days Project. Across From Life

when I discovered that I was lost
cigarettes burned and billowed into the night
work passed quietly only to interrupt
lit liquorous lust-filled tangles
short drives reveled to abandonment
suspending the pretentious unconcerned sky
sugaring bitterness
with wry sarcastic rays

all so trite

white salty surges
pounding bruised fists
satisfied scarred and bloody
torn from safety and certain pain
thrust into fear and uncertain times
the loss of ritual’s rights from repetitions’ crows
flawed evolution now wraith in rear view

life stands apart
where I once was

a cool ocean breeze
at what-remains’ end
swirls with dreams
the salients of truth
forever sleeping innocents
waiting to be sung

I am still

like a leaf

bronzing in the sun

with no wind
and no rain
